Elmina Galore
Go on a guided Elmina town walk and learn about the history and culture of Elmina.
Visit the Castle, Elmina – Java museum; and learn about Ghanaians recruited by the Dutch, 24 years after the British had abolished the slave trade to serve in the East Indies Army, in Java, Indonesia.
Experience Elmina Boat ride on both the sea and lagoon. You have an option to either learn batik printing or enjoy cultural drumming and dancing.

Cape Coast City Tour
This 75 minutes bus tour is an easy way of exploring a wider landscape of the town. The routing of this bus tour covers areas such as the famous London Bridge, Coronation street, Jerusalem street and Beulah Lane, all attesting to the earlier presence of the British in the town, not forgetting about the abundance of colonial architecture.
A very important feature of this trip is a view of the Fosu Lagoon, which contains exceptionally tasty species of tilapia which is in hot demand locally. Additionally, many drinking spots and local eateries are conspicuous on the route. You discover some of the numerous educational institutions, edifices of prominent national figures, open spaces and their significances, and how street names were derived.
Back Roads of the Slave Trade (1 day)
A day trip to AssinMansoSlave River Park; where African captives after walking long distances from the interior had their last bath, before arriving on the coast to be distributed to the castles. Continue to the Cape Coast Castle; visit the dugeonsand the ‘Doorof No Return’. At the Elmina Castle, tour the castle, and gain more insight into the slave trade.
Nuggets of the Coast (2 days)
Spend the weekend visiting the Kakum National Park, experience thecanopy walkway, trail walk, night camping, and bird watching. Visit the Stingless Bee International Center.Tour Cape Coast Castleand/or Elmina Castle and listen to knowledgeable guides narrate the story of the slave trade. Eat lunch at Hans Cottage Botel while viewing birds, and crocodiles.
Go on a guided walking tour of either Cape Coast and/or Elmina Castle. There will be time to experience the Elmina Boat ride, learn batik printing, and go shopping.
Village Life by the Fireside (3 days)
This educationally-oriented package is also experiential. Great experience for volunteers, families and groups who have appreciation for Ghanaian rural life. Visit a Ghanaian farming village, Mesomagor in the Central Region. Mesomagor is 25 km from Cape Coast. Tour the village community, meet elders and experience traditional protocols at first hand. In the night, be part of a story telling session with the community.
The Kukyekukyeku Bamboo Orchestra will entertain you to traditional music and dance. Spend the night at the community guesthouse, whose facilities include; beds with mosquito netting, and rudimentary showers. Meals are created from locally available foods and prepared by the women’s cooperative. A guide shows you around and takes you through cocoa farms and distilleries en route to the Big Tree.
